While in Ocean City, MD on a family vacation, Mike Turkin walked into a gym to get in his workout for the day. One of the experienced members of the gym took Mike under his wing and taught him the secrets of the fitness world and the world of bodybuilding. With an eagerness to share this love of health and fitness with others, Mike opened the first Atlas Personal Trainers studio in a basement in Parkville in 2005. From there, Atlas blossomed. The clientele was building, group classes were expanding, and bodybuilding competitors started training for competitions.
